A vehicle was travelling along Redwater Dr., near Leduc Dr., when it hit a tree and burst into flame around 4 a.m. Police, fire and paramedics were able to pull the 17-year-old driver from the vehicle and put out the blaze.
"The person was taken into custody at the time but was transported to hospital for treatment," Const. Clint Stibbe said.
The boy suffered non life-threatening injuries in the crash. Stibbe said charges have not been laid at this time.
