Toronto Police say that a 16 year old boy has been released without charge, after a BB gun was found in his locker at a high school in North York on Tuesday morning.
It had been initially reported by police that the boy was in possession of a gun at James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic Secondary School, located on Finch Avenue West, near Keele Street.
It was also reported that the boy had been restrained by teachers until police arrived and made the arrest.
However, it has since come to light that this was not the case and police are now calling it a ‘non incident’ with Constable Victor Kwong saying in a tweet ”that the information they received during a 911 call from the school was inaccurate.”
Police have since confirmed that the boy was not restrained and never carried any weapon on his person.
The boy will not face criminal charges and the matter will now be handled by the school.
