Ibrahim Khiar of Toronto 32 wanted in Canada Day Kensington Market kiling of Marcel Teme, 19

A 32-year-old man is now wanted for a Canada Day shooting in Kensington Market that killed one man and injured three others.

Toronto Police say the gunfire erupted near College St. and Augusta Ave. just before 10:30 p.m. on July 1.

“Officers attended the area and found four people with gunshot wounds and varying degrees of injury,” Const. Caroline de Kloet said Friday.

One of the victims — Marcel Teme, 19, of Toronto — died three days later in hospital.

Investigators have now identified Ibrahim Khiar, of Toronto, as the suspected shooter.

He is wanted for second-degree murder and three counts of discharging a firearm and endangering life.

Police warn Khiar is “considered violent.”

“If located, do not approach,” de Kloet said. “Call 911 immediately.”

Anyone with information on Khiar’s whereabouts should call the Homicide unit at 416-808-7400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
