Zion Sankar-Beharry, 20, is accused of firing a gun at Yorkdale Mall in Toronto earlier this week


Toronto Police have identified a suspect alleged to have fired a gun at Yorkdale Mall Thursday, sending throngs of shoppers into panic.

Police were called to the bustling shopping centre near Dufferin St. and Hwy. 401 around 2:50 p.m. for reports of gunshots. They say two groups of men were involved in an altercation and two shots were fired.

Zion Sankar-Beharry, 20, of Toronto, is wanted for discharging a firearm with intent.

Police believe he was last seen in the Warden and Steeles Ave. E. area later that day.

He is considered armed and dangerous.
