Driveby shooting near Campbell and Wallace Aves., in Toronto's west end, on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018.
Multiple security cameras were recording as a car rolled through a west-end neighbourhood and gunshots were fired at people outside a house last month.
Toronto Police have now released footage of the terrifying drive-by, hoping the public can help them track down the vehicle involved.
The shooting unfolded just before 8 p.m. on Aug. 8, near Campbell and Wallace Aves., Det. Jason Hunter, of 11 Division, said.
“A number of shots were fired at several people on the porch of a residence by the vehicle’s occupants,” he said, adding “no injuries were reported.”
The video released by police, which is two minutes and 46 seconds in length, shows a white Nissan Micra driving through the Junction Triangle neighbourhood.
Cameras captured the vehicle from several different angles.
But it’s the last 20 seconds of the footage, when the audio kicks in, that are most startling.
At the two-minute-and-30-second mark of the video, gunfire suddenly erupts — three single shots followed by what sounds like a burst of numerous shots.
Immediately after, a woman can be heard screaming and then crying as the video ends.
Anyone with information is urged to call police at 416-808-1100 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1–800-222-TIPS (8477).
