Fall from Parkdale high-rise balcony now Toronto's 75th homicide
A fall from a high-rise balcony in Parkdale late Saturday evening has been declared the city’s latest homicide.
Just before 11:30 p.m., emergency crews were called to the front driveway of 103 West Lodge Ave. near Queen St. W. and Lansdowne Ave. where they found a man suffering from serious injuries.
He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Initially deemed a suspicious death, police announced Sunday the homicide unit had taken charge of the investigation.
Police believe the victim was involved in an altercation on an apartment balcony before falling to his death.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, and the victim’s identity has not been released.
Saturday’s death is the city’s 75th homicide of 2018.
Anybody with information should call police at 416-808-7400, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.
