Officials say a teen has died after he was shot at an apartment building in Toronto’s east end early Friday evening.
Toronto police and paramedics were called to the building on Bellamy Road North, near Eglinton Avenue East, just after 6:45 p.m.
A Toronto Paramedics spokesperson told Global News the patient, who is believed to be 16 years old, was treated for gunshot wounds.
Paramedics rushed the victim to a trauma centre with a police escort in life-threatening condition. Police said he was pronounced dead at hospital a short time later.

Police haven’t released suspect information and the victim hasn’t been identified.
The homicide squad was called in to take over the investigation.
The boy’s death is Toronto’s 77th homicide.
