Homicide detectives are investigating the city’s 82nd murder after shots rang out near York University Tuesday night.
At around 9:36 p.m., emergency crews were called to the area of Keele St. and Canarctic Dr. — just south of Steeles Ave. W. — for reports of a male who’d been shot.
Once there, crews found the victim without vital signs.
He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
This was Tuesday’s second gun murder in the GTA.
Shortly before 5:45 p.m., a man was shot outside a townhome complex in nearby Malton near Goreway Dr. and Brandon Gate Dr.
He was transported by private car to Etobicoke General hospital without vital signs, where he was pronounced dead.
That killing was Peel Region’s 21st of the year.
Anybody with information in either case is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
