Toronto, four people hurt in shooting on Augusta Ave. in Kensington Market on July 1, 2018
Four people have been injured — one seriously — in the second downtown Toronto shooting in as many days.
Just after 10:30 p.m., emergency crews were called to the Augusta Ave. for what witnesses described as a ‘large amount of gunfire.’
Once on scene, police identified four victims — one described by Const. David Hopkinson as suffering ‘very serious’ injuries.
Police say four suspects were possibly seen fleeing the area.
Sunday’s shooting comes a day after 21-year-old Jahvante Smart, also known as Toronto-based rapper Smoke Dawg, and 28-year-old Ernest Modkwe were gunned down Saturday evening on Queen St. W. near Peter St.
