Toronto police search for 18 year old black male suspect after midday carjacking in Scarborough

Toronto police say they are searching for a suspect allegedly responsible for a Scarborough carjacking that unfolded in broad daylight on Saturday.

Officers received the call around 12:10 p.m. in the area of Ellesmere Rd. and Bellamy Rd. N.

They say a woman in her 30s was standing near her car when she was approached by a man who demanded she give him her keys.

Police allege the man took her keys and drove off in her vehicle, a grey 2014 Toyota Camry with the license plate ABWE 882.

The suspect is described as an 18-year-old Black man with a short Afro. He is reportedly 5 feet 6 inches tall and 130 pounds. At the time of the incident, police said he was wearing a white baseball cap with black lettering.

If seen do not approach the suspect, call 911.
