Two Toronto teenagers arrested after string of robberies in Scarborough

Two teenagers have been charged in relation to a string of violent robberies that took place along the Finch Avenue TTC bus route in North East Scarborough.

Toronto Police say the two boys followed people as they got off the bus and assaulted and robbed them of personal items once they got to residential neighbourhoods. In one instance a victim was stabbed.

On Friday, Nov. 1, officers stopped a car with suspects believed to be involved in these robberies. One of the suspects ran away on foot and discarded a semi-automatic Colt pistol.

A 11-inch serrated machete was found in the car.

One 16-year-old boy was charged with robbery, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with recognizance.

Another 16-year-old boy is facing over 14 charges including robbery with a weapon, assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.

The teenagers cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Investigators believe there may be other victims.
