Toronto police are warning the public after the theft of an RCMP gun in an Etobicoke mall this week.
A satchel containing the firearm was stolen sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. Wednesday at Sherway Gardens, police said.
The black satchel, with a blue stripe, also had a police radio and three magazines.
The pistol is a Smith & Wesson 9 mm model 5946 with a silhouette of a horse and rider along with the letters “GRC” and “RCMP” engraved on the right side.
Police are urging anyone who finds the satchel not to remove the firearm inside and call 911.
