A 42-year-old man was shot in Mississauga Friday night but is expected to be okay.
Peel Regional Police say officers responded to the shooting in the area of Britannia Rd. W. and River Grove Ave. — near Creditview Rd. — shortly after 10 p.m.
The man was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital, police say.
The victim was treated and released from hospital on Saturday.
Hours later, around 2 a.m. Saturday, Toronto cops responded to a double stabbing in the heart of the city.
Two men, believed to be in their 20s, suffered serious stab wounds near Yonge and Isabella Sts. — a block south of Bloor St.
The victims were rushed to a trauma centre for treatment.
No further details or suspect descriptions were immediately available for the double stabbing or the shooting.
